Masquerade
His Life Has Paid
I chained myself; I wore a masquerade
He reached for me; I ran away in vain
Deliberate, his blood, his life has paid
In captivity I would e’er have stayed
He caught me, loved me, freed me, broke my chains
I chained myself; I wore a masquerade
He did not sin, was by design betrayed
Forgave me and destroyed my false domain
Deliberate, his blood, his life has paid
Redeemed through Christ whose light will never fade
My heart the Holy Spirit does contain
I chained myself; I wore a masquerade
He overturned and smashed my grand charade
Left naught but faith, hope, love – these three remain
Deliberate, his blood, his life has paid
So ashamed to be free, I was afraid
His grace dries clean every single tear stain
I chained myself; I wore a masquerade
Deliberate, his blood, his life has paid
