Philippians 2: 9-11

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.(KJ)

Two nights ago, I had a dream. When I woke up, I had the conviction, the deep admission of how powerful the name JESUS is. Not was, but, IS.

By my bedside sat a woman who looked like a voodoo consultant. She held my hand, but I couldn’t say anything. I just looked at her. She was really really frightful, with thick dreadlocks and a twisted face that spoke of malevolence. And I heard her say “Give me your hand, I want a bite”.

I struggled to say no, but no sound was audible, I was crying, and…

Finally, I uttered “JESUS”. It wasn’t loud; it was kind of a whisper. Then, I woke up.

As I sat on my bed, it struck me. What had rescued me – the name of JESUS.

And I remembered Acts 2:21 – And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord JESUS shall be saved.

Not only safety for the soul, but safety for the spirit and the body.

The name of JESUS is real. At the mention of the name JESUS, witches and wizards bow, principalities and powers surrender, all that is above the earth and beneath it obeys, even the gates of hell cannot prevail against Him who bears that name JESUS.

And so, sitting on my bed, in the prime of the night, I could only say, thank you God for Your Son, JESUS, for the powerful name of JESUS CHRIST.
