If I was there

If I was there I would hold your hands

Tell you how much I deeply care

Show you how much I hear your pain

Listen to you through your questions

Support you through your doubts

There to comfort you in your fears

There to hear you in your tears

Show you that even in times of trial there can be joy

The joy of knowing you are there for those who need you

That nurse who needs to feel that their efforts bring healing

That ER doctor who brought your condition from critical to stable

The paramedic who gave you medication to keep you alive

The pastor who takes time to hear your life

That friend who never goes away

The family member who loves you as you suffer

If I was there I would tell you all these people care

They are there for you in your great time of need

They are there for me

They are there for you

They hear the cries of those who are sick and blue

These people of the heart will never leave

Because they all give the gift of their heart

Love that does never depart

About osborne2029

I enjoy spending time with people just having a coffee or talking about life, philosophy, religion, politics or sharing a favorite joke or story. We learn from one another as we interact and share our joys, challenges and even our times of sadness. I enjoy reading, writing, singing and sharing in the blessing of community whether that is one on one or in groups. I'm married and am powned by two kitties named Sir William of Lounge a.k.a. Sir Lounge a Lot and Princess Catherine of Chaos a.k.a. Her Royal Highness Catherine of Englehart. I m in an M.A.-Ph.D program with St. James the Elder Theological Seminary to train to become a psychotherapist and priest. Let us pray for and reach out to each other with kindness, love and an embracing compassion. We can working together be servants with two open hands to those in need so that hate, indifference and inequality would lose and love will win. The peace and abounding joy of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

    • Thanks for taking time to share. What did you find touching about the poetry reflection?

      Have a Son-filled weekend!

      • It was reminiscent of a time when I needed someone to be there, unfailingly.

      • It is always so comforting to us when that someone is there for us. We don’t feel alone. Someone is there loving us through the storm.

I am thankful for all those times people have been there for my wife, Karen and I. Those who never let go when times get rough are a blessing.

        Have a beautiful light-filled life!
