Is any dream too large?

follow your dreams follow your heart

Your dreams are too big my critics say

They won’t come true no matter how hard you work and pray

That is when I ask them this question: Is any dream too large?

You see, my dream is for communities helping people their dreams to come true

It’s for helping that person in need, for helping you

For lifting up our sister, our brother

The love, the time we give to one another

In a world of plenty there is no need for any to go without meat, vegetables, fruit and bread

How many more people will we hear about on the TV news we dread

That many children from malnutrition are now dead

‘cause they weren’t well fed?

I know I hear many people say there is not much they can do

Say poverty will always be with us and likely this is true

But there is a gift we all can give – our heart

Is that not where all dreams start?

Instead of thinking about the world in need

Think of that one you could guide

Teaching that person, being by their side

Is that not making a caring stride?

What a world it would be if we all focused on changing one life

To lift that one struggling person out of their time of strife

So that person could spread their knowledge to another

Is that not how we show true compassion for our sister, for our brother?

I leave this parting thought with you

We can all change one life today by taking time to see

When we help that one in need, that is the best kind of dream to see

We help that person their future to be

By one act of caring, one outstretched arm of kindness

We begin to see that the best things in life are truly free

When you help that one person to a new life that is true, not a fantasy

When you forever free that person from their poverty

Those are the best kind of dreams because your dream comes true too

For as you give to others, so shall it be given unto you
