The Path of Love

child running up hill

With Christ there is no black or white

All are precious in His sight

For three years this man of Galilee

Teaches others the path of love to see
Many miracles He does perform
He heals the sick and helps the blind to see

That hate has no place in their spirituality

He makes the lame to walk

Brings Lazarus from death to life

Feeds the five thousand

He is tempted as we are by evil
In His hunger and thirst in the desert

He is promised riches and power
If He rejects His Father
But in that testing hour
He remains true to His Father

Says He is the source of His strength

He does not sin
Keeps the spirit of the living God within

Christ is feared by King Herod

Challenged by the Pharisees

Experiences rejection of His message of love

His followers deny knowing Him
In the Garden of Gethsemane
He does pray for His dark hour of death to pass

Jesus says not His will but His Father’s be done

He is betrayed by Judas for 30 pieces of silver

Arrested and given a trial that is a mockery to justice

Beaten by Roman soldiers
Spit upon
Crown of thorns placed upon His head
Forced to carry a heavy cross to Calvary
Above the cross the mocking sign is placed

King of the Jews

There He bled

There He died

At Calvary was our Lord crucified

In this world of growing hate and fear

We need to God’s love draw near

Love as He calls us to love

Teach others of things not below

But of things above

Can we do anything less for Christ who died?

He who was willing to be crucified

We need to treat others as our brother

We are called to love one another

That is the gospel we should preach

The path of love is what we are called to teach

It is in loving others that we will reach

many who do not believe

who God’s love need to receive

Remember each day the Christ of Galilee

who taught others the path of love to see

who gave His life for sinful suffering humanity

That love is for you
That love is for me

That love is for the rich
That love is for the poor

That love is for the abused

That love is for the addicted

That love is for the afflicted

That love is for the convicted

That love is for the prostitute

That love is for the destitute

That love is for the politician
That love is for all people
Only love will conquer hate

Only love will conquer fear

Father, help us from this day
To take the time to pray
To treat everyone as our brother

To walk the path of love with one another

About osborne2029

I enjoy spending time with people just having a coffee or talking about life, philosophy, religion, politics or sharing a favorite joke or story. We learn from one another as we interact and share our joys, challenges and even our times of sadness. I enjoy reading, writing, singing and sharing in the blessing of community whether that is one on one or in groups. I'm married and am powned by two kitties named Sir William of Lounge a.k.a. Sir Lounge a Lot and Princess Catherine of Chaos a.k.a. Her Royal Highness Catherine of Englehart. I m in an M.A.-Ph.D program with St. James the Elder Theological Seminary to train to become a psychotherapist and priest. Let us pray for and reach out to each other with kindness, love and an embracing compassion. We can working together be servants with two open hands to those in need so that hate, indifference and inequality would lose and love will win. The peace and abounding joy of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
