DESIDERATA (2)

Proverbs 3:13-18 “Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. …”
Proverbs 12:1 “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.”
Proverbs 17:27-28 “Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.”
Proverbs 19:20 “Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.”
Thought of sharing the words supra and those infra with you (Would have all the proverbs; all the desiderata). In all, know ye that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:9-12). As you search through all, strive to have a seat always in God’s mind, and let His word have its seat in your heart.

Positive Scribbles

A few months back, I found myself in an amiss situation with my father, and he told me to « Go back to the Desiderata, read it as though it was for an exam, carefully; thoroughly”.

And so I did. I often did. Had I missed out on something the previous times? Well, I did, the words were the same, the meaning I drew, the same. But, yes, but…

The lines, though simply a reminder, speak a truth so carefully and quietly they cut through the mind and even the soul. Simple things that are desired, desired by all and for all –the desiderata.
