She was hungry for all and thirsty
She followed him who promised food and wine
Lol, she began to smile out mighty
Cuz she was sure he’ll take her out to dine
He loved her quite well, and could not all to make her know
He’d give when he could and lo, that’s all he could
She loved him really well and did her all to tell him so
And mayhem she’d cry though knowing that’s all he really could
But why the much ado when true you know he cannot all?
Why the time to rise, when sure you know you both will fall?
Why a deaf ear to Him when since you heard the call?
Why deny the love of Him who willed and gave His all?
Why rebuff the bliss and choose to whisk off in the dull?
Why break heads and tongues when neither can roll your ball?
Why let the despair you drown?
Why despise He who laid all down?
Why block your view to that crown?
Why make His blood become all brown?
Why throw that Love to the ground?
For you His love He did give all
That on His shoulders you stand tall
That when life throws you, you won’t fall
That when you get stuck you can call
That when you want you heal your flaw
That you can get free from the claw
That all the ice on you can thaw
That when you smile you bring the awe
For you His love He gave His all
For you His love He did it all
Isaiah 54:5 – “For thy Maker [is] thine husband; the LORD of hosts [is] his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.” (KJV)
As we soar through 2016, may we not lose sight of our Maker and Lover. Simply put: May we keep setting our minds on the things above, on Christ, lover of our souls.
Happy New Year 2016!
