Father, I pray those reading this prayer will feel inspired they can make a difference in someone else’s life. They do this by reaching out to others. You don’t require us to be perfect. You ask only that we would care.
Father, You know each life. You are aware of each need. Please hear their silent and spoken thoughts. Many have demands which press in upon them. They strive to balance both family and career. Others are looking for work. Many have medication costs they can’t pay for. Many don’t have enough nutritious food. Others struggle with paying for rent and food. There is this silent suffering. Pride prevents many from asking for help.Teach them just as it is a blessing to give, so too is it a blessing to receive. It is an expression of our compassion for others.
Many men have been raised to believe failure to provide means they are failures as men. Father, speak the truth to their hurting hearts they are stronger than they think. They are not weak. Many men have carried an unreasonable weight of responsibility for far too long. Father, show them they are not failures. You look at us as Your children. You love us in spite of our weaknesses. In Your eyes we are never failures. Bring people into their lives who will show them not just with words, but acts of kindness they care.
Community means putting caring into action. Giving to others has its own blessing. It makes us feel we are contributing to the welfare of others. It is the path of love You call us to walk each day. Amen.
