From Captive to Calvary

image of Christ cwith cross dying for you

Tremendous love flowing from Calvary is mine

You hear my soul asking my sinful nature to refine

Take all that is unlike You away from me

That a greater path to holiness I would see

Stained with sin I am

Crimson tide of Calvary sets my captive spirit free

Blood of our Saviour who is crucified

Tried, mocked, scorned, rejected, despised, beaten

Betrayed by Judas, denied by His followers

Crown of thorns put upon His head

Cheap Roman vinegar wine instead of water

By a Roman soldier He is fed

How is it God should love you so?

Why would He take time to love you?

Because we are all God’s children

I pray you see

No matter what you have done

Today, you can feel the Son

If you would ask forgiveness for all your sin

Let Him come and dwell within

Allow Him to be your guide

Through storms and blue skies

His peace in you would abide

Knowing He is always by your side
