A Prayer for my Pastor

Loving Heavenly Father, please be with my pastor today

Help him in all he does, think and say

Bring him the help he does need

Comfort him as he reaches out to those in sorrow

Give him words that help them see even the glimmering of a more healed tomorrow

The plan You have for them in their anger, questions and fears

Words of compassion spoken in the silence

Grant him times of rest

Time to renew and restore

When in our church there is division

Please give him Your wisdom in every decision

The path that will lead to repentance and reconciliation

Show him all the ways we are here

Helping others in their time of need

Always ready to care

Others’ burdens we do share

For them and him we’ll always be there

Amen.

Kevin Osborne is training to become a minister, psychotherapist and chaplain. He and his wife, Karen, plan to open a counselling practice. Karen is taking graduate divinity studies at Trinity College in the University of Toronto. Kevin is planning on taking additional graduate studies there.
