Be Inspired to Inspire

Should you see someone have a rough time along life’s way
You can help that person see a brighter day
By being there
By caring
By listening to their struggles
Offering to help in the way that’s needed
All that individual may need is a word of encouragement
To uplift their soul through feeling discouragement
A smile
A prayer
A phone call
An email
A letter
A card
A visit
Doing these things can give a new-found hope
Give the person ways through tough times to cope
You may never be called thousands to inspire
But think of the joy you can bring
When you help one person a new song to sing
One that causes others to inquire
Why is this person filled with such desire?
To touch the life of others
To mentor them
To be their teacher
To help lift them out of poverty of body and spirit
You don’t have to be rich to help those in need
What you need to do is plant in their mind a seed
A seed of hope that in time will grow
As you others show
All that you know
All that you are
To help them in life go far
Kevin Osborne is training to become a minister, psychotherapist and chaplain. He and his wife, Karen, plan to open a counselling practice. Karen enjoys doing cross-stitch. She makes me laugh when she sings the kitty bed-time song saying, “It’s that time. It’s the bestest kitty time of the day!” Karen is taking graduate divinity studies at Trinity College in the University of Toronto. Kevin is planning on taking graduate studies there. Karen is also planning on entering an M.A.-Ph.D. program through St. James the Elder Seminary majoring in Christian Psychology.
Our greatest calling is to be servants of our Lord wherever He calls us to go.

About Dr. Kevin Osborne B.A., B.Th., M.A., M.Div., Psy.D., D.Sc., D.D.
I enjoy spending time with people just having a coffee or talking about life, philosophy, religion, politics or sharing a favorite joke or story. We learn from one another as we interact and share our joys, challenges and even our times of sadness. I enjoy reading, writing, singing and sharing in the blessing of community whether that is one on one or in groups. I'm married and am powned by two kitties named Sir William of Lounge a.k.a. Sir Lounge a Lot and Princess Catherine of Chaos a.k.a. Her Royal Highness Catherine of Englehart. Two years ago I completed my Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) through St. James the Elder University. On Sept. 26th 2020, I graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Canadian Christian Theological Seminary. These journeys were started over 20 years ago. In 1997 I received a Bachelor of Theology degree from Canada Christian College & Graduate School. Between working and studying it took 13 years to finish it. Let us pray for and reach out to each other with kindness, love and an embracing compassion. We can working together be servants with two open hands to those in need so that hate, indifference and inequality would lose and love will win. The peace and abounding joy of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.Posted on May 26, 2016, in On Life's Purpose, Poetry and tagged body, compassion, encourage, Hope, inspire, joy, life, listening, mentor, mind's seat, motivate, poverty, song, soul, teach.
