How can you join Jesus in the manger?

Nativity Wallpaper

You can be with Christ in the manger

You ask, “How could this be?”

Let me share how you can be there

This happens when you show others all the ways you care

Every time you lift up a prayer for someone else

Each time you’re there for the needs of others

You offer food to those who have little or none to eat

People feel your love in each heartbeat

You take time to listen to a hurting soul

You make caring for others your life’s goal

Welcoming the stranger into your community and church

Listening to the lonely

Visiting the sick

Volunteering at a food bank or local charity

Hearing the voices of the rich and the poor

Helping in the inner healing of the abused and addicted

Comforting the afflicted

Serving the suffering with outstretched love

Practicing the power of loving presence

Offering a hand up to those in need

Teaching your children what loving others means

When you Serve, Practice the power of presence,

Offer your compassion and Teach your children what caring means,

this is what you do:

You SPOT Jesus in the manger, because this truth you see:

When you do all these things, the spirit of Christ’s love is there

It’s in everything with others you share

When you think of those who have not

When in all your actions God’s love in you others can spot

This Christmas season and every day, please join Jesus in the manger

Let His love be in all you do

In doing this Jesus’ manger love will always be with you

Kevin and Karen Osborne are Christian pastoral counsellors and psychotherapists. Kevin is studying to become a chaplain and professor of Psychology specializing in Pastoral Theology. We have started You Can Hope Again Counselling. Karen enjoys doing cross-stitch while I like writing and singing songs. Karen makes me laugh when she sings the kitty bed-time song saying, “It’s that time. It’s the bestest kitty time of the day!” Kevin enjoys teasing the kitties and making them do kitty dances with music. Their kitty, Catherine, loves it when kitty daddeh sings All Things Bright and Beautiful. Kevin likes doing impressions. He tells children’s stories and helps others with their problems using his hand puppet, Dr. Teddy, who is a therapy bear. He is a partner with us in our counselling practice. We are available to assist with worship and preaching to give busy pastors and ministers a much-needed break. We offer in-office, and phone counselling to anyone in the world.

About Dr. Kevin Osborne B.A., B.Th., M.A., M.Div., Psy.D., D.Sc., D.D.

I enjoy spending time with people just having a coffee or talking about life, philosophy, religion, politics or sharing a favorite joke or story. We learn from one another as we interact and share our joys, challenges and even our times of sadness. I enjoy reading, writing, singing and sharing in the blessing of community whether that is one on one or in groups. I'm married and am powned by two kitties named Sir William of Lounge a.k.a. Sir Lounge a Lot and Princess Catherine of Chaos a.k.a. Her Royal Highness Catherine of Englehart. Two years ago I completed my Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) through St. James the Elder University. On Sept. 26th 2020, I graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Canadian Christian Theological Seminary. These journeys were started over 20 years ago. In 1997 I received a Bachelor of Theology degree from Canada Christian College & Graduate School. Between working and studying it took 13 years to finish it. Let us pray for and reach out to each other with kindness, love and an embracing compassion. We can working together be servants with two open hands to those in need so that hate, indifference and inequality would lose and love will win. The peace and abounding joy of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
