Thank you!

None of us got to where we are alone. Whether the assistance we received was obvious or subtle, acknowledging someone’s help is a big part of understanding the importance of saying thank you.-Harvey Mackay.

Our schedules and the to do lists involving balancing family and career can be overwhelming. We are losing the importance of saying,”Thank YOU!” Thanks for being there when I needed you most. Thanks for giving me that job interview. Thanks for hiring me. Those groceries when I was too ill to work, came at just the right time. Thanks for being you.

Today, let us all say “Thank you!” to God for always being there when we need Him. I haven’t been doing that enough.  As my wife, Karen and I, were giving the day to our Lord, the Holy Spirit convicted me with this truth. “Kevin, you haven’t been saying thank you to Me enough. You’ve been complaining about how difficult your life is, but you are overlooking the forest for the trees.

I’ve been blessing you in ways you have yet to fully see. You are only seeing your circumstances. Yes, life has been hard and I do hear your pain over that. But, Kevin, you don’t have cystic fibrosis. You don’t have to take a bowl full of pills every day to survive from having that condition.

I opened the door for you to be a co-author on Mind’s Seat. I gave you the gift of Marmar and your fellow co-authors to offer their prayers and loving support in your struggles and rejoice with you in your victories.

I provided the beautiful home you are in.

I have my support team in place for all you need.

You’ve been so wounded by your past abuse from your schizophrenic father and others that asking for help means weakness, that you haven’t been asking enough. Don’t you see that as I have people give to others, that I’m teaching them that we all need to be kinder and more loving with one another?

I gave you a drop-dead gorgeous wife, who loves you with her caresses and sweet kisses. I gave you two kitties, William and Catherine, who give you kitty love pins and amuse you with all their antics.

You have a caring pastor and a congregation who loves Karen and you. I gave you a supportive and caring occupational therapist, who is doing her best to advocate for you.  You have La Vonne Earl the life coach from Your Kingdom Inheritance Coaching helping you speak as new language as a victorious healer in Christ. I gave you a counsellor and pastors of the the heart, who are helping you fully heal from all the abuse you’ve experienced in your life.

I have sent you to Dr. Heyward Ewart, who is the President of St. James the Elder Theological Seminary, to be your mentor as you begin your journey of faith in being a student in their M.A. -Ph. D. program in Christian Clinical Counselling. I provided Dr. Johanne Malherbe and others I will call to guide you in doing your sole requirement of a thesis for your Master Of Theology in Missions degree through South African Theological Seminary. They have a godly staff, who is uplifting Karen and you in prayer. They have much to teach you as you further prepare yourself for the calling I have on your life to be a counsellor, teacher and pastor of the heart. Listen to their wise counsel.

I am giving you greater ability to sing with passion and a deeper resonance. I’m enhancing your ability to write song lyrics and the tunes to go with them  for My kingdom purposes. My child, more than all of these gifts, I give you the forever gift of My love.”

Lord, thank you for all of Your blessings!

Today, let us all say thank you to that friend, family member or colleague who is always there for us. Let thank you be our language today and throughout our life.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord give you His peace now and forevermore. Amen.

P.S. Thank you all for your prayers. Karen’s recovering from her flu. My breathing is improving. MY asthmatic bronchitis has finally turned a more hopeful corner. God hears your prayers. While I’m not out of the woods yet, I know the Lord is with me. I accept His and your prayers and loving support as I stretch out my two open hands and pray for you.

Please let me know how I can pray for you. God will give me all I need to hear you and listen as you pour out your heart.

When you pray don’t forget to say a big THANK YOU! to God for all the blessings He gives you.

The peace of the Lord be with you all..

Kevin
