Listen to the message of song of this children’s choir as they call all of us to shine our light for Jesus.
When I was involved with the joyful role of ministering to youth as a young man, I saw in the children a light of hope that was not yet dimmed. The light they shine from their caring hearts calls us to a new way of thinking. If they can hope for a better world, we can. If they can believe that the darkness will not win, then that should be a message to all of our hearts. Keep their hope for a more loving and just world alive in your heart.
The problems of poverty and the death of hope in people’s lives are overwhelming. The sea of need that we see before us each day gnaws away at us. We see the news of death and the engulfing evil of terrorism. We lift our hands to God in prayer and cry at the depth and magnitude of the problems in our community and in our world.
We ask the why questions of our hearts and for our world. How can I get out of this crippling state of burnout I’m in? Will I be able to get another job, concerned that we will not be able to provide for our families? Why is there hatred and division in my church and at work? What kind of future will my children have? Where is our world heading? Can we ever live in peace? What can we do to have a just society? How can I in my small corner make a difference in the lives of others?
When you feel that the circumstances of your life and our world are too much to endure, come back again to this inspiring message in song from these beautiful children — these Heaven-sent counsellors of our worn hearts.
When we wake up each day the main question should be How can I best shine my light for God? We live in a stressed out world. We all need to take time to be quiet, so the noise of our life doesn’t consume us.
My life is my message.-Mahatma Gandhi.
Let us ask ourselves what message our life is showing. Let us live the life we are called to live, caring more for others than ourselves. In giving to others in our small corner of this world, we shine a light of hope in people’s lives.
We can show a letter of grace to others if we take time in the morning to be alone in prayer with our Lord.
Let us all do what we can to shine for Jesus while we are here.
The peace, joy and light of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
