Servants of Healing Love

through love serve one another Galtains 5 13

Father, may Your Son’s love in us others always see

As we bring our cares to You may we feel healing love’s sweet release

Whether we live near or in country afar

Help us feel and know how loving a God You are

You are with us in every hardship, fear and doubt

You teach us what giving love is all about

For those who have become weary in serving grant refreshment

Give them their time of rest from the demands of their lives

Train us to be Your servants

To reach out to the inner pain of others

To comfort the lonely

To pray for and visit the sick

Hear the inner pain of the abused and addicted

To offer a caring hand up to others

To be ambassadors of Your love

To be there for all who need us

To teach about Your love

To speak about Your love with a gospel without words

Practicing the power of presence

Offering our listening heart and a cup of hot coffee

A cup of cold water in Your Name

To be the helping hands of Christ in our community

You love us completely

With a love that the most learned cannot fully understand

How could we as human-beings ever Your divine love fully comprehend?

It would be like trying to explain why a rose is beautiful

How Bach’s Jesus Joy of Man’s Desiring speaks of Your love for us

The message of Your majesty and power in the song How Great Thou Art

We are thankful Your one and only Son died for us all

May we hear in our hearts Calvary’s call

That comes to us from Jesus, the man of Galilee

Who through His death rescued us from sin’s captivity

That prisoners to sin we would no longer be

Salvation’s love gift sets us truly free

To love You and suffering humanity

To be Your servants of healing love to all we see

Kevin Osborne is training to become a minister, psychotherapist and chaplain. He and his wife, Karen, plan to open a counselling practice. Karen enjoys doing cross-stitch. She makes me laugh when she sings the kitty bed-time song saying, “It’s that time. It’s the bestest kitty time of the day!” Karen is taking graduate divinity studies at Trinity College in the University of Toronto.  Kevin is planning on taking graduate studies there. Karen is also planning on entering an M.A.-Ph.D. program through St. James the Elder Seminary majoring in Christian Psychology.

Our greatest calling is to be servants of our Lord wherever He calls us to go.
